What it costs

Blackwood Hills Men's Shed charges Annual and Session fees; there is an option to more conveniently pay session fees quarterly and obtain a discount. Currently the fees are:

The Annual Fee is due on 1st July each year and must be paid by 31 July to retain Shed membership.  New members must pay the Annual Fee when they join the Shed, although for members joining in the last two months of the financial year, the fee payment covers the next year as well.  Session fees can be paid in cash at a Shed session or by transfer to the Shed's bank account*.

 

All Shed members are required to pay a session fee for each Shed session they attend, unless they have paid a quarterly fee.  Members attending multiple sessions per week must pay session fees for all sessions they attend. Session fees can be paid in cash at the session or by transfer to the Shed's bank account*.  Members can choose to pay multiple session fees in advance.  The Shed operates on an honesty system, so it is the responsibility of each member to ensure they pay the session fee for all sessions they attend.

 

Members can avoid having to find the session fee amount each session by choosing to pay their session fees quarterly, which can deliver a saving of up to three sessions' fees per quarter.  To take full advantage of the discount, quarterly fees must be paid within the first three weeks of the beginning of calendar quarters begining in January, April, July, and October. Quarterly fees can be paid in cash at a Shed session or by transfer to the Shed's bank account*.

 

Except for some specialty timbers, the Shed currently does not charge members for the cost of personal project materials they use from the Shed's stock of donated timber, fixings, advesives, abrasives, stains and paints. However, members will be asked to contribute to the costs of not-in-stock materials bought-in for use on personal projects.  Members will be invoiced for materials costs which can be paid in cash at a Shed session or by transfer to the Shed's bank account*.
